To insure we are purchasing original antiques we always attempt to purchase pieces that have NOT been restored (see before and after photos). The craftsmen of Asia are masters at duplication and can easily deceive even the most knowledgeable importer. Once a dealer has made repairs or modifications it is very difficult to determine a real antique from a piece that has been substantially restored and of less value.
